Pinter double bill

The Room: Harold Pinter’s first play, written in 1957, conveys a comic yet menacing mood, with a plot featuring reversals and surprises that are both funny and emotionally moving; and an unconventional ending that leaves at least some questions unresolved …

Celebration: Harold Pinter’s last play, written in 1999, focuses on two groups of diners at an expensive and trendy restaurant following a night at the theatre. In attendance are the restaurant’s hosts and a waiter with extraordinary false-memory fantasies. Startling, full of black humour and wicked satire, Celebration displays a vivid zest for life.
